Confidentiality

The Practice complies with Data Protection and Access to Medical Records legislation.

All our staff are bound by a strict confidentiality policy. All patient records are treated with the strictest confidentiality. This means we are unable to give out patient information, even to relatives. We are not even allowed to tell you if someone is or has been in the surgery.

When you contact the Health Centre you may be asked your date of birth as well as your name, in order to help verify your identity.

The administration staff require access to your medical records in order to do their jobs. These members of staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the clinical staff.

Parental Access

Once a patient reaches the age of 14 their parents cannot access their medical records without the patient’s consent.
