Exam Stress

 

  • Can't sleep, Can't concentrate, Keep having worrying thoughts, Can't do the work, Need a drink, Wish it was over!

  • Feel dizzy, So tired, No chance, No way I'm going to pass! I can't be bothered, I Can't win, Got a headache, Nobody cares, who am I doing this for?

  • I don't get it, Feel sick, Who knows? What for? It's not going in, What's the point?

Who Enjoys Exams?  

  • These are pretty normal reactions aren't they?
  • But will they help or hinder you?
  • Will you be able to perform on the day in spite of the stress?
  • Have you always had a problem with the stress of exams?
  • Do you go to pieces when you feel you are being tested?
  • Or even just under-performing and not doing your best?
  • Or do you often, dread of dreads.. the 'F' word - Fail?
  • Re-sits???

The Workshop

 


If you do know how to prepare for exams - you know all the study skills and organisational tools and techniques - but you still can't get yourself to do the work you need to in a way that doesn't cause you to suffer, you could benefit from the Exam Stress Workshop.

This is a half-day workshop examining, in depth the anxiety experienced during examination or performance periods and the different ways to manage it.

Learn how to accept your thoughts, feelings and sensations just as they are, so that you don't need to dwell on and get carried away by the past, or get drawn into worries about the future. Learn how to take action and accept your stress by not trying to get anywhere or to achieve anything at all!

    Due to the high demand for places, you may only attend ONE workshop and it is important that you attend if you say you are going to.

    CANCELLATIONS: If you have booked a spot and then cannot attend, please E-Mail the Helath Centre as soon as possible so that we may offer your place to someone on the waiting list.

    ** The workshop is about stress and how to deal effectively with your own personal experience of exam stress. PLEASE BE CLEAR THAT THE WORKSHOP IS NOT ABOUT THE TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES OF HOW TO STUDY, REVISE AND TAKE EXAMS - for advice on this please see the Exam Stress section.
