Please note that the majority of urgent problems are best managed by this out-of-hours service, who will advise you appropriately and arrange an urgent consultation with a doctor if necessary.  The Health Centre is fully informed of all calls to the out-of-hours service the next working day.

A large number of patients attending Accident and Emergency departments out of hours do so inappropriately, which places pressure on resources and increases patients' waiting times in the A+E waiting room.  Many problems seen there do not require emergency hospital treatment and would have been best managed by the patient's GP.  Please consider this and contact the out-of-hours service above if you are not sure of what to do.
