Can I See A Counsellor Without First Seeing A Doctor Or Nurse?

The doctors and nurses are experienced in dealing with students with emotional problems and have counselling skills themselves. Please make an appointment with a doctor if you wish to be considered for a referral to one of our in-house psychotherapists.

Procedure

At your appointment the doctor will decide how best to help you. This is partly to manage the caseloads of the psychotherapists but also to match students with therapists with particular interests or skills.

If you prefer to seek help away from the Health Centre, there are five independent student counsellors employed by Imperial College whom you could approach confidentially.
