              Appointments

The Health Centre offers a variety of options

for consulting a doctor or nurse.

You can now consult face to face or by telephone.

Routine Appointments

If you know in advance you need to see a doctor or nurse please make a routine appointment.

These are ideal for matters such as:

Review of longstanding health problems
Travel advice and vaccinations (nurse led)
Contraception
Cervical smears

If you feel your issue can be dealt with by telephone please book a telephone appointment and the doctor

will phone you at the allotted time. This method is ideal for problems that do not require a physical

examination such as routine regular medication reviews and making blood test requests.

   Urgent Problems
If you feel that your problem cannot wait until the next available appointment we have two clinics that you

could attend - preferentially the morning clinic should be attended:

   1. Morning Triage Clinic (0830hrs until 1000hrs Mon-Fri)

You will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire. The Duty Doctor will use this information to
decide when it is appropriate that you are seen and by whom. You may be asked to book a

routine appointment with a doctor or nurse.

   2. Afternoon Triage Clinic (1500hrs to 1600hrs Mon, Weds, Thurs and Fri)

You will be asked to complete the triage clinic questionnaire.  The Duty Doctor will use this

information to decide when it is appropriate that you are seen and by whom.  You may be asked to book
a routine appointment with a doctor or nurse.

If your urgent problem occurs outside the clinic times please phone reception for further advice.

   Home Visits

These are available but are usually only offered to housebound patients or at the doctor's discretion.

If you feel you need a Home Visit, please telephone reception, preferably before 10.30am.
